LinkingHuts is committed to helping people and organisations protect their intellectual property rights. LinkingHuts Terms & Conditions & Community Guidelines do not allow posting content that violates someone else’s intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark.
Copyright is a legal right that seeks to protect original works of authorship (ex: books, music, films, art). Generally, copyright protects original expression such as words or images. It does not protect facts and ideas, although it may protect the original words or images used to describe an idea. Copyright also doesn’t protect things like names, titles and slogans; however, another legal right called a trademark might protect those.
A trademark is a word, slogan, symbol or design (example: brand name, logo) that distinguishes the products or services offered by one person, group or company from another. Generally, trademark law seeks to prevent confusion among consumers about who provides or is affiliated with a product or service.
LinkingHuts respects the intellectual property rights of others and desires to offer a platform which contains no content that violates those rights. Our Terms & Conditions require that information posted by users be accurate, lawful and not in violation of the rights of third parties. To promote these objectives, LinkingHuts provides a process for submission of complaints concerning content posted by our users. Our policy and procedures are described and/or referenced in the sections that follow.
Please note that whether or not we disable access to or remove content, LinkingHuts may make an attempt in good faith to forward the written notification, including the complainant’s contact information, to the user who posted the content and/or take other reasonable steps to notify the user that LinkingHuts has received notice of an alleged violation of intellectual property rights or other content violation. It is also our policy, in appropriate circumstances and in our discretion, to disable and/or terminate the accounts of users, or groups as the case may be, who infringe or repeatedly infringe the rights of others or otherwise post unlawful content.
Please note that any notice or counter-notice you submit must be truthful and must be submitted under penalty of perjury. A false notice or counter-notice may give rise to personal liability. You may therefore want to seek the advice of legal counsel before submitting a notice or a counter-notice.
